Well my name is Sam and I love music.
I’m the guy people tell what they like and I tell them what else they should give a listen to. I’m pretty introverted until I get to a show, have my headphones on or we start talking about music. Then I feel energized, engaged, excited. I sometimes feel music in different parts of my body; not just hear it through my ears. Music will change my moods, make my day and change the way I interact with the world around me- truly amazing stuff!
I grew up in the 70s and 80s; I’m an MTV kid (when they still played music videos) and I’ve been to 100’s of live shows. My music collection has evolved from vinyl to tape, tape to CDs, CDs to MP3s and MP3s to digital/streaming. Regardless of the format my collections have always been huge and extensive. I know people with Grammys on their mantle and grew up with someone recently inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I’ve met some of my music idols and recently my son “broke the news to me” that he’s changing his major to Music Business at Hofstra. It was an incredibly emotional bit of news- I shed some happy tears. We regularly exchange “must listen to” messages and I’ve evolved that to the feature I post of Great Music You’ve Never Heard right here on Sams Music Review.
